You’ve helped your clients find their dream home, but after closing how do you stay connected with them? Repeat business and referrals are so important for the success of a Real Estate Professional. A study by Inman.com found only 17% of families use their real estate agent again, and the number one reason why they don’t is simply because they can’t remember their agent’s name.
Here are some recommendations as to how to stay connected with your clients, even after closing on their home:
Give A Memorable Closing Gift: Gifting your clients a bottle of champagne or a local restaurant gift card is a great way to celebrate the purchase of their new home. But after they pop the bottle or use the gift card, how long will they remember you for? Gifting your clients a more personal, thoughtful item can go a long way! Kristen Stabeck from Cutco recommends kitchen knives, something your clients will use almost everyday. Or consider a personalized sign from Etsy that features their last name and when they moved into their new home. They’ll be reminded of you every time they see it, and it shows how much you care!
Be a Real Estate Resource: New homeowners may be overwhelmed with everything they need to know after purchasing their home. Being available with any recommendations they may need, such as local landscapers, plumbers, electricians, roofers, etc. can help you stay connected with clients. You can also be a resource by providing them with updates such as home sales in their neighborhood, information about mortgage rates, and new developments which could impact their home’s value.
Send Birthday, Anniversary, and Holiday Cards: Using a CRM software can help you keep track of important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations. By acknowledging these events, you show your clients how much you care on a personal level. This small gesture goes a long way and keeps your name in the forefront of their minds!
Create Newsletters with Meaningful Content: Sending out monthly newsletters via email is a great way to stay in touch with your clients, but it’s important not to overload them with information they are interested in. Giving home improvement tips, news about the housing market in their area, upcoming local events, etc. can be helpful and relevant! Our owner, Kyle Felts, loves to send monthly updates to his clients via Snail Mail with a little update about his family and what’s going on, making it even more personal!
